Exit Code 1152

I made a couple of rookie mistake deploying software across the enterprise and now things are in such a state of disarray, I'm not sure what to do.

Here's where I am now.  I am trying to deploy an application via a task sequence.  I'm using a task sequence so a single collection/advertisement can handle both 32-bit & 64-bit systems.  The installation failed on a large number of computers.  When I tried re-deploying, most of those failed with exit code 1152.  I know that this message is telling me that it couldn't run because the program is already running.  What I don't know is WHAT is already running?  Does it mean TSManager?  Because that's the only thing related that I can see running.  I know my setup isn't running.  At least is doesn't appear as a running process on the affected computers.

When I look at the TSManager process, I see that it's been running for over 2 weeks.  That's not good.  Looking at smsts.log, it's been "waiting for job status notification" for who knows how long. Probably over 2 weeks.

What can I do to clean this up so I can re-deploy this software?

Task sequence Error Code 1 Task Sequence can't find Global Group

I have a 32 bit machine I am imaging via Task Sequence, the image has worked fine for over a year after over 3500 machines successfully until Friday. The task sequence is returning a error code 1 on the add admin rights task. I am running a runonce.bat that net.exe localgroup Administrators to 3 global groups that I have verified exist in ad, but the failure in the advertisement status of the task sequence that runs states there is no such user or group for each of the 3 groups in the runonce.bat. Then the task sequence error out without completing the imaging. any thoughts?

Deploying software when no one is logged in and/or Maintenance Windows

I've stated before that I, as a rule, only deploy software to systems when no one is logged in. Some people responded that it was the craziest thing they had ever heard.  I'm curious to know what other people do.

I don't see how anyone could do it any other way.  How are you supposed to upgrade Java when the user is in Internet Explorer doing who knows what?

My users have been instructed to log out when the leave for the evening, but I've got systems that have launched at task sequence over TWO WEEKS ago, where step one is waiting for the user to log out. TWO WEEKS.

I've also got IT management that doesn't want the department to seem to Big Brotherish.  Oi vey.

Enrollment Point Control Manager detected Enrollment Point is not responding to HTTP/HTTPS requests.  The http status code is 12175.

Checked enrollserv.log on site server and same errors repeating every 30 minutes

Failed to send http request /EnrollmentService/DeviceEnrollmentService.svc. Error 12175

Call to HttpSendRequestSync failed for port 443 with 12175 error code.

Health check operation failed, error code is 12175

I have tried to restart site server and W3SV SERVICE few times but errors keeps coming back

I would really appreciate any advise..

Deploying Java 8.45 with SCCM 2007 to Windows 7

I am having issues deploying Java 8 Update 45 to Windows 7 via SCCM 2007. I have downloaded the executables from Oracle and created a batch file to first uninstall all previous versions of Java and then install 8.45 (32 and 64 bit). Batch file works flawlessly when I run it on a local machine in and Administrators command prompt.

When I run it under the system account the uninstall works fine.  I can see the batch file call the executables and they run for about a minute each but they never actually get installed.

This is testing my sanity....

Has anyone had any luck deploying 8.45 with SCCM 2007?  From what I understand, you used to be able to extract the MSI files but Oracle seems to have made changes and now charges to get the MSI files.

This is the batch file.  It works in SCCM right up to the install.
Any suggestions are appreciated

Installing Applications using SCCM 2012 keeps failing

Hi everybody.

I'm trying to update software using SCCM 2012 and I keep getting the same error. It is as follows:

"Unable to download the software

There was a problem downloading the software" - then a bit more encouraging me to call helpdesk.

In the more information box I'm getting:

"The software change returned error code 0x800705B4 (-2147023436)."

Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Dot net is failed.

I've pushed the Dotnet 4.5 package to one of test machines, but getting the error as "Install DotNetFramework_4.5.50709_EN failed with exit code 2148270085" in execmgr.log file and report its showing as '2146697211'.

cmd Line : "dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe" /quiet /norestart

So could anyone of you help me on this please. Appreciated.

Much thanks in advance.

Windows 10 reinstall Issues with reinstalling apps

Windows 10 crashed and I was unable to recover other than by doing a reset. I still have my files but am struggling to reinstall some apps.

For iTunes I get the error message:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT ,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053" ,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073715"

I have uninstalled all Apple components ( in various orders as suggested on the web) and also used the RAR extract technique to try and install the applications support piece separately (64bit)......no joy and considerable frustration.

Also tried the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update - to no effect

Any suggestions?
