How to get Package Name or ID from .PCK file
I have some old .PCK files in my despoolr.box\receive inbox folder that haven't had a date modified or accessed in over 5 years. I'm fairly positive it is safe to delete them. I'd like to know which exact packages they are for though before deleting. The naming convention of the compressed .pck files does not match up with a Package ID or anything that I can see from the SCCM console.
How do you go about translating the .PCK file name to an actual package?

Hi,
Its been two days i am unable to distribute any packages to a particular DP(wsp1app243).
Please guide me in a right direction to troubleshoot this issue.
Below is error message from the distribution manager component status messages.
Failed to create virtual directory on the defined share or volume on distribution point "["Display=\\wsp1app243\SMSDIST$\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=PS1"]\\wsp1app243\SMSDIST$\".
Possible cause: Distribution Manager requires that IIS base components be installed on the local SMS Site Server in order to create the virtual directory. Distribution Manager also requires that IIS Web Services be installed on the Distribution
Point Server that needs to support Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS).
Solution: Verify that IIS base components are installed on the local SMS Site Server, and IIS Web Services are installed on the Distribution Point Server.

Distribute Visio 2013 Pro via SCCM 2007, software download successfully but failed to run the script to start the installation
Hi SCCM experts
i distributed Microsoft visio 2010 pro and visio 2013 pro to clients, the package was downloaded successfully to local ccm cache file, but the installation not continued, also I checked the installation script is fine, it’s working when I run the script locally. I created many package all working except visio 2010 and 2013, are there some differences?

software distribution, in this scenario I've a Windows Server SCCM 2007 R2 on
site A. I've created a package on my local fileserver and created the
distribution package on SCCM Server. In my LAN there is no distributing this
package, but if I deploy de package to a customer on site B it will colapse my
entire corporate network.
My questions are, Is there any way to create a
remote package and allocate that package in that remote network? On site B, C, D
and E we have Local Fileserver too. Can we use this fileserver as a local
repository and create a package distribution on SCCM Server on site A?

Recover deleted collection members
Hi All,
Need some direction in handling a situation where there was a deletion of members in one of the collection which resulted in removing all reporting SCCM clients from all collections. This went unnoticed as the main admin was on vacation. Now we have new collection members and have a DB backup which has the old collection members.
What would be the best way of getting the data from the backup restored to the production so we have the collection members in all collections as before, maintain the newly made changes after the deletion and ensure that this process does not rerun the advertisements on the end users system during the entire process.

O365 Add or Remove entry icon missing - when Deploying Powershell script with SCCM
Hi,
I have a requirement that I need to run Powershell script to uninstall and install O365, everything goes fine, the uninstallation and installation. however, the problem part is the icon in the Add or Remove programs is missing once the O365 installation completes.
I have tested it many times manually and there was no issue with the display icon but while I target using SCCM the same script the display icon goes blank and does not show up even after a restart. the functionality and everything else seems fine
Please help how can I get it working even via SCCM
I am using the below command to target the program and all the execution settings are normal with user interactive etc (which is as per the requirement)

Copying a folder to clients using SCCM
I need to create a package to copy a folder to C:\Program Files of all Clients. Have created a package containing the required folder and a batch file with below contents:

If I double click on batch file on a system, it executes successfully.
However, when run using SCCM, the package stucks while downloading into system cache and then eventually fails. Size of the package is 150 MB. And the size of package in SCCM cache of client varies from 1 MB - 50 MB.

Installing after the Maintenance Window
I set up some maintenance window yesterday for our Software Updates in all the servers. We use SCCM2012 R2
I set up the maintenance window with the deadline at the same time of the maintenance window, so it wont be installed (i dont know if this is a good practice or its better to choose Available instead of required)
Any way, if for some reason one server miss the installation because nobody log in and install them, can be manually installed from the software center after the maintenance window? The updates are there in the list , maintenance its over. Whats the behavior of SCCM with this scenario.

Unable to unistall application from software center
Hi,
I am unable to uninstall Chrome from Software Center. When i select Chrome and click uninstall, it doesn't seem to do anything.

tmp files in secondary site SMS_SITE folder
SCCM 2007 SP2
1 Primary and 2 secondary sites
we have more than 300 files that have got accumulated in \\secondarysite\SMS_SITE folder
99% of these files are .tmp files
Also there are some .pck and .try
Is theis folder supposed to be empty.How could i solve the issue , if there is one.

Shockwave 12.1.7.257 distribution
Hello,
I create a package for shockwave 12.1.7.257 to be deployed to all our enterprise machine. during testing I have already issues:
3 VMs built from the same image, they are in the same OU, no customization.
When distributing the package after creating the adverstisment I am getting on 1 VM an error:
The program for advertisement "DTS2015C" failed ("DTS000D0" - "Adobe Shockwave 12.1.7.157"). A failure exit code of 1603 was returned.
User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 1603 is considered a failure.

I checked the logs and could not found any clue
In the application log I have:

Why only 1 machine has the issue? 2 went through

Schedule Task (Windows 2012) run wheter user is logged on or not and vbscript with CreateObject(COM object)

I Scheduled a batch file that contains C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WScript C:\MyScript.vbs
Runs fine as Domain\Administrator when job is confirgured for "Run only when user is logged on"
But when configured as "wheter user is logged on or not" the batch file starts, CSCRIPT.exe (or WSCRIPT.EXE) starts but remains as a running process. The program the VBS instanciated does not start (it does nt show in the process) will it does start when "Run only when user is logged on"
System log shows:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160} was not found in the component Services
If I replace the code in the script to launch Notepad.exe I cann see Notepad in the processes.
But if the script issues a CreateObject()
